This steal of a wedding is proof that you can have a tasteful memory without the years of aftermath debt. We’re happy to present to you some tried and true wedding budget hacks!

First off, the bride wore a lacy mermaid gown with a sweetheart neckline. After scouring the mainland, she ended up  back home where she had her first fitting on Vancouver Island. The most important part is the YOU love it. As for the men, the groom and his groomsmen were dressed by Moore’s. They offer quality sweet deals that can be tailored to suit your budget. Pun intended.

On a side note, this bride wore her hair down in curls to show off her length and had  fresh flowers arranged within the curls — If you can’t find a hairpiece you like, why not see what your stylist can create. All the girls had their hair and makeup done by the lovely Erin Bradley and Artistry by Alexa . Erin’s passion for her art form was clear when she showed up with a broken leg in a cast. Ladies, if that’s not dedication, we don’t know what is!

Next, if you both have large families and you still want friends to be able to join in the reception, why not choose a venue where you can self-cater and consider having a family-style potluck. Guests can bring a favorite side dish or dessert and you can provide a pasta bar— this way, everyone can join in the celebratory meal and memories without the financial burden of feeding hundreds being put on any one person.

Moving on to the cake! This thrifty couple opted to have three separate cakes and displayed them on live edge wood rounds of different heights to mimic the essence of a three-tier cake. Another perk of doing it this way is that you can enjoy three very different types of cake— it’s a win win win!

Finally, consider having a few friends go on a greenery hunt with you. Highways, forests and parks will often have bushes you can trim— but always ask permission if you are eyeing something on someone’s property. This reception had 425 roses that were the main hit – both visually and financially. The couple saved floral dollars by buying short stem roses for the decor. Having free foliage of various textures with which to complement the roses was an inexpensive way to add natural beauty to the venue and create quite a steal of wedding!

TIP: If you choose to have photos taken at a beach, prepare for it to be windy! Consider  applying a fresh layer of hairspray just before going out. This will do wonders in making sure your fringe stays in place and you don’t look like a cockatiel.
