The Wedding View: In Strictness and in Health – Weddings are Back! Brace yourself…weddings are back, and it’s going to be crazy. Pent-up people and rescheduled plans have given folks a lot of time to think (some might say too much time to think!). That’s making for some wonderful stories and some epic meltdowns. Let’s look at this week in weddings…
We love that these two came up with something original for the time-honored ‘you may kiss the bride’ moment! It’s not what you think….
Panic booking is happening. Two years of postponed weddings are hitting the fan, so photographers and venues are going fast. This is a huge relief for the industry. Not so much for couples who had their hearts set their fav vendor.
Just when you thought every awkward moment at a wedding had been done before, along comes the anti-vax wedding guest nightmare. Do you require your guests to show proof of vaccination? What about guests who refuse to vaccinate? This is a real thing when the Washington Post has an article!
TikTok, as always, is providing bridal scandal. A bride wrote her bridesmaids a ‘transparency letter’ about the costs of being in her wedding party along with a gift box. Our opinion is that this was mature and kind of awesome. Others, it turned out, did not have this opinion. We are ready to die on this hill. If every bride did this there would be a lot less misunderstandings and broken friendships.
On the other hand, we have the ‘who brought this child up?’ story from Facebook. The bride posted her gift registry demands, including a Gucci Purse and tile for their home. Really? This is taking bridal entitlement to a new level. The comments are well worth your time.
Our fav wedding this week involved lots of plans changing at the last minute. The family and guests pulled together to create one of the most beautiful micro weddings we have seen. We loved the ceremonial blanket, the incredible bouquet, the chill feel to the entire day, and, of course, the best #dogofhonor we have seen in a while!
