We love receiving invitations to wedding venue experiences (especially one titled ‘Pumpkin Spice & Everything Nice Brunch’) and our trip to the top of Doubletree by Hilton Hotel & Suites Victoria was no exception. What awaited us was a very pleasant surprise as we toured two beautiful penthouses designed specifically for small events such as weddings, rehearsal dinners, ceremonies and elopements! Beautiful lines, exceptional views and lovely spaces create a highly useful yet stylish Vancouver Island wedding venue space.
The sunny brunch invitation also included an opportunity to see some of Vancouver Island’s wedding professionals showcase their talents and the latest nuptial trends. Due to the time of year the theme was obviously autumn but we loved some of the fun and fantastical details.
A gorgeous tablescape greeted us as we walked towards the coffee station (which included Baileys and a mimosa bar!!) Emma McCormick Creative designed the décor for the Brunch along with help from Party Mood, Bash Specialty, Laura Lavender Calligraphy, Platinum Floral Designs & Faire Le Fete Linens. Favorite things: the gourds placed as credits, the menu cards and the jewel toned goblets.
The culinary was also showcased with Table 21 providing local sustainable ingredients in ultimate comfort foods such as the rather astonishing mini fried chicken on waffle with pumpkin sauce! And on a whimsical teal coloured sideboard we enjoyed cake pops and strawberry tarts by Schur to Please Cakes.
We were glad to be able to sit in the sun and enjoy the musical experience of Cascadia Quartet – who were having fun with us as they transformed current hits into orchestrated beauty. Then it was onto the bathroom…yes, you read that right…where Four Frames Photo Booth had transformed the large shower into a ‘bubble bath’ with white balloons. Everyone had quite the photo booth experience in the tub!
The real piece de resistance of this venue space are the two balconies providing completely different views of Victoria and the harbour. If a couple chose to marry indoors they could do so with these views on either side of them. Or they could open the glass doors and marry on the balcony while their guests watched from inside.
